All you’ve pointed out is just another anime series using the same naming convention a lot of other creators use - because it’s simple, easy, the requires no creative thought. For example, let’s name all the characters after Greek Gods, or let’s use Christian mythology as a back drop, or name all the hot chicks after days of the month.

I didn’t know the Japanese ever used any Spanish references in any show, except for maybe NAZCA or EL CAZADOR.

This show has some twists to the “helpless girl with bishonens” formula. The interactions and the title of the show is funny, and I like Michiru’s voice (Kuwashima Houko’s voice range certainly has increased over the years). Are you on eps 3? Some really interesting characters are introduced.

this show does indeed sound as promising as you girls made it out to be. it at least sounds original, which is always a plus. i’ve put it on my plan to watch (just need to put ccs out of its misery, then finish ichigo mashimallow and ghost hunt first …).

Genshiken is actually what Otakus wish they were in a completely perfect normal Otaku state, even comes with outsiders for them to tease. For something that truly frightens (according to my co-host), check out N.H.K., especially the manga. These guys are extreme.
